Elachee Nature Science Center

Elachee Nature Science Center is a well-known Georgia environmental park. An interactive museum, a woodland refuge, an 8-mile trail system, and self-guided nature walking excursions are all part of this attraction. Elachee has so much to offer the whole family in one place.
In the Gainesville, area, this is a nice find. Elachee Nature Center, located on the 1,440-acre Chicopee Woods Nature Preserve. tucked away in a wooded area of Hall County, features a lovely Nature Center for young children as well as a variety of paths. From paved routes for strollers and transfer chairs to dirt trails that lead you over wooden bridges (including an incredible suspension bridge) or a hike along the streams with shoals in these woods, there's something for everyone. Enjoy the trillium, blueberry, and a plethora of other fauna and flora that this area has to offer.
There are four different habitats in this urban wilderness: woods, lake, stream, and marsh. Elachee is a wonderful place to get in touch with nature while yet being accessible to Downtown Gainesville and other neighboring attractions!
The nature center offers tiny exhibits that would be enough to keep a little child's attention. In the center, there is also a charming gift shop.
Elachee Nature and Science Center is a must-see for everyone who enjoys the nature. Peaceful hiking through the Chicopee Woods Preserve lead to Walnut Creek. A longer hike across the rope bridge takes you to a "lake" that looks like a pond.   At the nature center, a naturalist is on hand to provide information and a map if requested. Visit  the gift shop, and purchase something! They have the most amazing gifts! They might allow you into the reptile area if you donate $5,
There are trails for people of all ages and experience levels. The routes are clearly marked and delineated, making it easy to keep an eye out for snakes. The stairwell is well-kept and constructed. The routes are of various lengths, allowing you to hike for as long as you desire. The live animal exhibitions are modest in size yet well-kept.
Elachee's curriculum is geared to foster a healthy ecological awareness, and it includes preschool, primary, and secondary education programs that align with Georgia Performance Standards. Teacher education, summer day camp, special public programs, scout and home school programs, children's birthday parties, and facility rentals are among the other services available.
Program fees, memberships, fundraising events, museum admissions, and donations from corporations, charities, and individuals support Elachee, a private not-for-profit institution.
