Sod Application

Are you looking for a company that can complete a sod application from start to finish in your area? Then the search is over, you have found us. Atlanta Landscaping Matters is a full service sod application company. We provide clients with a type of sod that enhances their landscaping while still be able to provide a completely natural environment. The sod will look just as good as it feels below your feet. It is a natural product that is family and pet friendly. We provide our clients with a type of sod that quickly germinates and provides a texture that leaves the lawn looking lush and healthy. It is a great choice for both the front yard and the back yard. Our goal is to be able to provide a quality sod product that gives our clients a lawn surface that looks great year round. The sod that we install is a dark green and lush grass that has a thick blade that is able to stand up to climate changes. It is one of the best types of sod for residential and commercial lawns. It provides a great looking and long lasting landscape for either purpose. If shade is an issue, we can work with that. If too much sun is an issue, we can deal with that. Our sod application is able to thrive with a minimal amount of sunlight while also being about last through heavy hours of sun exposure.

If you are thinking that it is time to get the job done and have that sod application completed, there is a time of the year that is best for installation. Typically we suggest that the application be completed in the fall, winter, or spring months. Completing the application in the summer months is not suggested. We find it hard to allow the sod to thrive during the extreme heat if it has not already been established. It can be installed during the summer months, but the client will always need to keep it well watered after, along with the installation process being completed with heavy watering throughout the process. During those hot months, the application can not be overwatered. The hours during the installation process we require a steady water source to ensure that the application is completed correctly if a summer installation is required. Winter is one of the ideal times to have sod installed in areas that the ground does not freeze. If the ground does not freeze is allows for the sod to easily root and gives it a chance to thrive before the weather changes to more extreme temperatures. It will thrive in all seasons but allowing the sod to root and establish before extreme heat gives it the best chance possible without special watering care.

Sod is an application that does require a decent amount of regular watering. Watering allows the sod to thrive and provide green look to the grass year round. So even if the sodding process has been completed in a cooler month as long as frost is not present it will require regular watering. Along with regular watering, sod does still require a maintenance plan. It will need aerating, seeding, dethatching, and weed control.

Caring for your sod after the application is much like caring for a  lawn. A regular maintenance plan should include a monthly program along with a special seasonal program that includes aeration and seeding. If a lawn care maintenance plan is not established from the start with your sod it will not thrive and then lead to it perishing. Along with seasonal plans, regular cutting and treatments are needed to keep the lawn thriving paying close attention to the care during the summer months. The length that the sod is cut during the summer months will determine how well it thrives. Cutting it too short or too often will damage it along with mowing during droughts. Avoid mowing and trimming it during droughts and periods of time without rain.

Our sod application services are the best in the area. We are able to provide each of our clients with a full service sod installation that will leave you with the best lawn in the area without months of prep and care. When we leave your grass will be green.
