Quinlan Visual Arts Center
The Quinlan Visual Arts Center is based in Gainesville and it is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charity art organization. Founded in 1946 as the GAA, the organization has evolved into a into an extensive art gallery that offers high-quality art teaching to people of all backgrounds and phases of artistic genius, as well as community events, summer camps for kids, solo exhibitions and group artists, and a particularly unique Members' Exhibition every fall.
As you enter the museum, take note of the massive metal Q, which is one of several outdoor art projects. Admire the building's majestic redbrick façade with its arched doorway. The complex is surrounded by well-kept bushes and a lawn, creating a serene and elegant atmosphere. Enter through the center's main door and inquire about the current touring exhibits with the docents.
Individual and group artists, as well as thematic collections, are included in the exhibitions, which are dispersed throughout five galleries. Examine the items, which include everything from folk art to realism to landscapes and impressionist paintings. Examine the still life paintings and the picture photos more closely.
The main collection is largely composed of American paintings, with several by local artists. Every year, the center holds a number of shows that benefit local artists while also featuring regionally and globally famous painters and sculptors.
